Andrew Keen Wikipedia and Bloggers

I don't know what you think of Andrew keen but his recent book and an article inta recent Guardian  has stireed up a hornets nest. Personally speaking I think he is somewhat wrong and possibly smiting at the fact that his company dissolved before the end of the first internet bubble burst,whilst others are doing very nicely thankyou. To me there is room for the amateur and that user content generated sites will continue as generally they are free (hence LJ and such like).


Also on the polemical forefront concerns the use of the word "blog" - well Anna i don't find it vulgar anyway and what word would you replace it with - vlog? (virtual logging)

Sad news

Some sad new - one of aunts (Aunty Joan) passed away last night in the nursing home. Had a call from my brother this morning coming42 who passed on the details. I guess the funeral will be next week sometime. That is just nearly two monmths after another Aunt passed away. So thought of an appropiate song for this ( a bit uplifting too).

Horsham Food Visit

Today GC and I went to Horsham for a mystery shop at La Strada restaurant. She had a £50 spend limit on this hence a max of £25 per head. We arrived at the restaurant at just after 12pm, and it was lucky that we arrived early, as the place soon filled up.

We had a starter and a main course with drinks flowing quite freely. Also had a bowl of Italian olives to cleanse the palette and some aglio (baket of homemeade garlic and rosemary bread).

My starter was a delicious Insalata di Spinaci (baby spinach leaves,sliced avocado,smoked pancette bacon and Parmesan shavings tossed in a mustard dressing).GC had Caprese (inported mozzarella made from fresh buffalo milk and served with vine ripened tomatoes,fresh basil leaves and extra virgin olive oil).

The main course was chicken for her and a pasta dish for me. She had Pollo Romana (pan fried chicken breast wrapped in sage prosciutto served with garlic and thyme gratin potatoes and green beans,with a butter and white wine sauce). I had Regatoni,Speck E Gorgonzola (regatoni pasta tubes with a traditional northern Italian smoked mountain ham,Gorgonzola,rocket Parmesan and cream sauce).

She had soft drinks as she was driving but i had two bottles of Italian beer and topped off with a sparkling pink wine spritzer. We aslo had coffee each.

Gorgious yummy food and a great meal with excelent service.

Helped GC select her new mobile phone upgrade and then i had to dash to Horsham station to get a train to Crawley to do this NHS bus survey. Called the designated taxi company to get me from the station at Crrawley to the hospital.
