FRIDAY

Two retail audits in Eastbourne along Seasde, both carpet shops, to check the Forbo Flooring stands. Quickly and efficiently done within the hour. Then walked back to the town centre and dig out grooves from cahrity shops and such like. Disappointly only found one interesting LP by the Button Down Brass featuring Ray Davies.

Evening did a mystery shop at the Grosvenor Casino in Hove. A shop that is worth £30 plus travel expenses.

SATURDAY

A really hot day. In the morning a trip to Littlehampton to do the final retail audit for Forbo. Took a good half-hour as all the samples were in wrong positions on the stand.

Afterwards checked out the charity shops, and again somewhat disappointing. However, managed to find one with a Peter Thomas track, and its a double LP called "Easy Listening" (Polydor 1970) which only cost 50p.  Infact, i was really happy to get this one as it features a track by Augusto Alguero "I Say A Little Prayer", PeterThomas "Gente" and Gunter Kallman's "Daydream" ( a much prized track as it has been sampled by I Monster and The Beta Band).

Afterwards in Brighton a survey for Waitorse, and then a trip to Lewes where I met GC. We had a bar meal at The Lewes Arms. I had a home made lasagne washed down with a pint of Harveys Best bitter. Then we went off to do a PRS in deepest East Sussex at a village called Chiddingly. The band were called Crash and Burn playing classic rock tunes. I had a further two pints of yummy Harveys Best.

This morning down to the Odeon to see "Surfs Up".

SUNDAY

Phew, a real scorcher of a day.

This morning saw "Surfs Up" at the Odeon, a free cinema preview showing with GC. Then off to BN 1  6  area to do the second leaflet check survey. Took a  large bottle of mineral water to keep me cool.

A phone call from my brother to confirm he willl pick us up tomorrow at 11 am to go to Auntie Joan's  funeral in Eastbourne.  I hope it runs smoothly, and rather than flowers, we are sending a cheque to the hospice who looked after her in her final years. Also, as a beneficiary, i shall get a 10th share of all her chatels and proprety, and after inheritance tax, it could be around (a conservative estimate)  £11,000 to £15,000 windfall, depending on how much the property is sold for. Then I can truly give a bit to those Stall 33 holders (except for one who shall remain nameless).

Then i really deserve a holiday as i haven't had one for a good few  years.

Well, after a good day door knocking, i went home for a well deserved cool shower. Plus a few cold beers.

Tuesday through to Thursday in Chichester doing a rare hall test. I say rare because they do not come up as often as they did a few years back.
