La Strada

Yesterday did  a mystery shop with GC at  La Strada Brighton. 

Food was excellent  and washed down with an Italian beer and two glasses of wine. However,  the service mitigated against the enjoyment of the food as it was appalling and surly service.  Also,we had a wobbly table and asked to be reseated in a stable one. I think the waitress got a bit shirty with us and became less friendly as the evening progressed. GC refused to pay the optional service charge as it was non-existent. If it had been a football score it would have been Food 10 Service 0 !!!

It had been a miserable day, blowy and wet, and all we needed was a peaceful dinner.

Cheque from Leyhaussen did not arrive so if i does not come this morning a trip to London will be immediate and I shall collect from them direct. Also it would give me an excuse to go diggin' around London and ofload some unwanted charity finds.

The service is tough and getting harder
The filthy looks you get are curt and surly
And the slowness makes your hair go curly
So it is  better to raid your own larder.

Oh Lords!

I am going to Lords Cricket ground on Saturday on behalf of EB and Progressive Partnership Research and i will be Team Leader of  15 other interviewers and to make sure they all arrive on time and have 2 ID photos for the ground security people.  Hopefully it will be a good sunny day of cricket.

At Last

The cheque from Leyhauusen came at last!! Enveloped was dated 14/8 (yesterday) and yet the cheque was written out on the 10th or backdated for the 10th to make it look as though it was written on the Friday. Anyway got it at last after what seems weeks and months of harassing them about it.

Needed a good haircut as well so went down to the £5 per cut emporiun in Church Road for a well deserved thorough trim.
