London Vinyl Diggin'
Aug. 23rd, 2007 06:06 pmA trip to London today ostensibly to do a job but L came with me as she wanted to go shopping in Oxford Street. We did not leave Brighton til the 10.40 am train as i had to post a job off and get a BACS form signed. So I met GC this morning to have a coffe and get that BACS form signed and for her to give me a PRS job she didn't want to do (as it was more for me than her).
Anyway in London she went Oxford Street way and I took the tube to Notting Hill Gate and Portobello Road as i had some stuff to swap, including books and albums.
At Intoxica picked up the following albums for ten pounds total -
Hugo Montenegro -The Best of .. (RCA LP) - some great tracks here, esp version of "Classical Gas".
Boz Scaggs and Band - Boz Svaggs and Band (CBS LP) - for "Monkey Time" and "Flames of Love" as its funky.
Bossacucanova and Roberto Menescal - Brasilidade (Zinguboom/Crammed Discs 2LP)
Bobby Matos and John Santos - Mambo Jazz (Ubiquity LP)
and from Notting Hill Xchange -
Andre Previn - Rollerball O.S.T. (MGM Records LP) one of these heavy vinyl reissues. Two moog crazy funk tracks.
Francis Lai - Live For Life (United Artists LP) - three great tracks that end side two.
Francis Lai - Bilitis (United Artsts LP) for two funky tracks "I Need A Man" and "Rainbow"
Various Artists - Swinging' Cheese (IRMA Records 2LP)
Norman Whitfield / Rose Royce - Car Wash (MCA 2LP) - better than the single disc version.
Quite a nice haul overall!
Will have to do job tomorow and Sunday now.

Funky Tiki style shop (one of my haunts).
