Reading Visit
Aug. 22nd, 2007 10:57 pmA long day travelling to and working in Reading today. After the job i visited some of Reading's charity shops to dig out some vinyl stuff. Oxfam had a plush book shop and separate record shop which had proper quality twin decks to listen to vinyl. Hey way to go!!
I did find two albums from the Oxfam shop for a penny short of a pound each. They did have a copy of "Curried Jazz" (MFP) but at £6 and its condition decided i can wait and still look for it at a cheaper price.
A compilation of the Dutch prog-rock maestros "Focus" on Polydor
"The Best Of Britsh Folk" (Contour) with tracks by John Renbourn, Pentangle and Bert Jansch and many more. A fine compilation indeed.
From a Heart Foundation shop one for a quid -
Various Artists "Impulsion" (Polydor Circle of Sound) which has George Martin's gorgious "Theme One",and a track by James Last which is quite groovy. Plus a strange version of "Live And Let Die" by John Scott and that is all as the rest is crap.
Back in Brighton after 9pm and a quick pint of ale at The evening star to finish off the day with.
