Bootfair Music Club Halloween Special
Nov. 1st, 2007 12:14 am The event i have been waiting for - us ragbag collection of DjJs and the stupendous comic rock duo The Brown Stripes all here at The Albert Pub. Event strted off very quet though (disappointing) until the Brown Stripes started playing their weird mash ups of well known songs such as Kylie Minogue done in a thrash metal style! Groovy baby!
As usual at any of these more recent gigs i have become a babe attractor - all the girls (well some girls) want to kiss me and naturally i reciprecate. I have become a magnet. One lovely young lady gave a right good old smacker on the lips!
On to the music i played. I was on first at just over 8pm - heer''s the playlist -
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells (first five mins)
Atomic Rooster - Death Walks Behind You
Girlschool - Race With The Devil
Blood Sweat and Tears - Sympathy For The Devil
The Brothers 7 - Evil Ways
Siouxsie and The Banshees - Spellbound
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Fire
Pesky Gee! - Season of The Witch
Bobby Picket and The Crypt Kickers - Monster Mash
Bar Kays - Holy Ghost
Birtha - Free Spirit
Deep Purple - Demon's Eye
Steppenwolf - The Pusher
The Cramps - Goo Goo Muck
Average White Band - Your Love Is A Miracle (reference to witchcraft)
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Salt N Pepa - Push It
The Cookie Crew - Females
Orville was there too (whom i met at Rikki Tik the previous evening) spinning some "old skool" teen disco stuff from the seventies from glam to rock.
Jonathan (one of my mates) arrived just after i finished my spin on the decks, in time to see the live band and ,as he informs me, they played in the Stanley Street Parade last year. He left after the band finished.I bought hm a pint but the stingy bighter did not reciprecate.
Last hour was devoted to giving away freebies for people dancing like zombies and the best zombie dancers would get a prize - i won a video of THE EVIL DEAD!! The Count would be pleased!

The Brown Stripes in action dressed up as monks.
Check out their MySpace site at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=47705641
Anyway in the end it finished a swell party with enough punters in the place to make it worthwhile.
