Last night another PRS visit. This time to the Casablanca Club for a live gig by Brighton's own latino jazz band Bazeado. Strangely the last time i visited the place they were the same band on, and must therefore do a regular gig at the club.

Yesterday i was back in Heathfield, but on route stopped at Uckfield, and browsed the charity shops there. Just two albums found - the excellent "Zoom" by The Commodores (Motown) and Jose Feliciano "A Spanish Portrait" (RCA 2 x LP), both a quid each.

So Vinyl Vulture's website is no longer - the forum is still going on though - but that site certainly helped me through the minefield of easy listening stuff to get out the beaty tracks and the funk gems from the piles of rubbish collected in chazzers etc.  I suppose it couldn't last and changes had to be made. I shall now look at slightly iffy releases with even more caution.

Another balls-up and its not the research company's fault but their bank which should have transferred funds into my account yesterday will not be able to do so til Monday. John at SFP (the research company) was most apologetic. AND they still charge exorbitant fees for unauthorised overdrafts and insufficient funds!!
No wonder i feel a bit crappy this morning.

Well once again we have had news that anything that you enjoy is BAD for you - well as for me - i shall ignore all of that and do as i have always done as you only live once.  Sloth and sin are cousins of mine anyway.Tee  hee!

Been doing a bit of a clear out this morning (including scat and tat) as the place was looking like a tip. Heavy recycling for Monday morning too. Found a record , a single, that i thought i had lost, under the pile. No money found though, more to the pity.

L is not feeling well and she thinks it is the onset of flu.

I had a few beers with Al and the guys from Across The Tracks, and coming home from this evening's imbibing promptly fell asleep after my evening dinner. Infact i hadn't done much today after the big clearance of stuff and tidying up,putting stuff in the recycle box,and hoovering. It was too late to start going to Worthing to finish off that survey i started earlier in the week. So decided to go record hunting.

These are what i got  -

Fabulous three - Answer me Softly Parts 1 & 2 (Pyscho 7")
The Neapolitans - Comb It Out (Neapolitan Records 7")

both from Hedonizm in Trafalgar Street.

Phil Ranelin - Vibes From The Tribe (Hefty  double LP 2001)
Ego - Jazz Band De Free (Whatmusic LP)

both from Al

James Brown - Slaughter's Big Rip Off (Polydor LP) a reissue from Borderline

Elvis Presley - Double Dynamite (RCA Camden double LP)
Elvis Presley - From Elvis In Memphis (RCA)

both from Wax Factor and recommended from the defunct Viny Vulture website.

and two charity finds -

Average White Band  - AWB (Atlantic  LP 1974)
David Murray Octet - Murray's Steps (Black Saint LP 1983)

and finally got a copy of "Kenneth Anger" by Alice L Hutchison (Black Dog Publishing) from Sandpiper Books as they managed to get the last eighteen copies of this book in the UK.
