Funky Fish Club, Good Mass and Rekkies
Dec. 2nd, 2007 09:28 pmLast night i did a PRS at The Funky Fish Club and met the usual people including Del (the manager and DJ with the usual great mix of classic soul and funk music. No funky fem dragiing me off to the dance floor this time!
Some of the toons i remember Del played -
Herbie Hancock - Wiggle Waggle
Spanky Wilson - Sunshine of Your love
The M & S Band - Egg Roll
Professor Longhair - Big Chief
Etta James - Down In The Basement
Jean Knight - Mr Big Stuff
yeah really great soul music matey with the odd bit of rock thrown in.
This morning in the rain picked up more of the smoking diaries and then headed for the Evening Star pub.
Had a pint and a half of Critical Mass (7.8% ABV) brewed by the pub's own brewery. Very yummy beer!!
Due to the crap and windy weather stayed in bed for awhile , didn't bother about going to th Boot fair as it would be either cancelled or so few traders as it would not be worthwhile battling against the elements.
So no rekkies to buy this morning.
Howver later on from my diary pick-ups visited the Mind charity shop and got these singles for mere pence -
The Jacksons - Show You The Way To Go (Epic)
Joan Baez - Silver Dagger EP (Fontana)
The Style Council - The Lodgers (Torch Society)
The Equals - Viva Bobby Joe (President)
Suzi Quatro - Devil Gate Drive (RAK) - well i think its great!
It made up for not going to the boot fair. Withdrawal symptoms - you bet!!
