A taste of ....
Dec. 5th, 2007 11:41 pm This evening last night of the two day lager taste test survey. Earlier in Coldean doing a leaflet check survey and keping an eye on the blustery weather.
Tasty chicken bruschetta at La Tasca as well.
Heard that the Big Yellow buses have been forced of by greedy Brighton and Hove bus company. Reminiscent of the fiasco wth the motorized rickshaws and the fuss that the taxi companies kicked up. They just don't like competition.
I loved the Big Yellow as it was fuel efficient and as it was running on chip fat it is better for the enviroment than petrol or diesel engines. Prices cheap too - £2 all day if you don't mind a route between Central Brighton and Falmer to the universities.
Oh and i managed to find these at chazzers and other bric a brac places cheaply -
Various Artists -SuperGroups Vol 2 (Polydor LP) - decent looking Polydor comp from 1970
Steely Dan - Aja (MCA LP)
Isotope - The Best Of Isotope (Gull LP)
Crazy's - Super Album (Crazy Music LP) - great calypso LP
Memphis Brown Beatband - A Taste of Beat (Oryx LP) -
A Taste Of Beat' by Memphis Brown Beatband looks totally unpromising (Skye Boat Song, John Brown's Body etc) but sounds like a proper freakbeat LP in places - 'Did You Ever Love A Woman' is full on funky garage rock, and lots of the rest is pretty good too (Evil Hearted Man, Don't Sing Lovesongs, Worried Man Song, Nine Foot Shuffle, This Old Hammer etc). Should turn up for pence and well worth a few of them!
CQ - Disco Nights (Simply Vinyl 12")'
Gosh , feel so tired now.. off to bed.
