GC flies off to Egypt today for a week and a half.

The Rascals - Heaven / Baby I'm Blue (Atlantic)
Redbone - Witch Queen of New Orleans (Epic)
Golden Earring - Radar Love (Track)
Don Costa - Up Up And Away / Theme From Valley of The Dolls (Verve)
Elf - L A 59 (Purple)
Free - All Right Now / Wishing Well / My Brother Jake (Island EP)

Albums

Lulu - The Most of Lulu (MFP)
Bad Company - Run With The Pack (Island)
Billy May Orchestra - Sorta May (Capitol)

It was too cold to keep on diggin' for long though.

I did venture into the town centre as there was a book i was itching to buy , and bought it at Zavvi, "New York Noise ,Art and Music From The New York Underground 1978 - 1988" (Soul Jazz Publishing) for £16. This has some great phots from that period including No Wave artists like Glenn Branca, DNa and so on,plus The Philip Glass Ensemble, Basquiat, Cindy Sherman, Andy warhol and more. Highly recommended., Must get the Black Dog published "No Wave" book next to complement this one.

Also Resdent had their sale on but only bought one CD - Warren G "Regulate" for £1.99. Purchased some polyvinyl Lp sleeves and 7" master bags from Rounder, and they too had a CD sale, but no vinyl in the sale , boo hoo.

From Saturday Guardian a free DVD of "Kiss Of The Spiderwoman". Watched it on Sunday.

Today leaflet check job in Hurstpierpoint.

Sunday i had time to go to Fabrica to see the Semiconductor installation "Brilliant Noise" as it was the last day.  Semiconductor make sound films that reveal our physical world in flux, cities in motion, shifting landscapes and systems in chaos.

Brilliant Noise is a film brought together of some of the sun's finest moments,an immersive, eleven metre wide moving image installation. The soundtrack of the piece reveals the hidden forces at play upon the solar surface and creates a symphony of the sun by directly translating the brightness of the image into audio frequencies.

Semiconductor have two DVDs available "Worlds In Flux" (Fat Cat)  and "Hi Fi Rise" (Other Timeline Films). The latter DVD has guest films including two by local Brightoninans - Ian helliwell's "Crystallisation" and People Like Us "New Knowledge".

Both DVD's are well worth seeing.
