Bits and Bobs
Feb. 5th, 2008 10:11 pm Today was our monthly market research meeting which we do each frst Tuesday of the month - at La Tasca - for a quick informal lunch. That is GC,AWN,Leslie and myself. Usual Spanish tapas and drinks.
Earlier used my Rail Pass (last day of it) to go to crawley and visit the YMCA chazzer which is still selling vinyl at ten pence a throw.
Anyway picked up 13 albums and six singles for a total of £1.90. The biggest punts which turned out to be nice surprises were -
Kiki Dee - Stay With Me (Rocket LP)
The Hollies - Can't let Go (Music For Pleasure LP)
Neil Diamond - Moods (Uni LP)
Dawn - Golden Ribbons (Bell) - two fine groovy tracks but rest is rubbish.
Les Reed - The Hit Making World of ... (Decca LP) - nice groovy "It's Not Unusual"
From the singles the best was Freez "Southern Freez" , a claasic piece of Brit jazz-funk.
Was going to London in the afternoon but the time flew by and it was five o'clock before i realise dwhat the time was and a bit late to go record shopping in London.,
So ended up at my local pub and got to listen to a compilation CDR i did for them a few days back.
Bought the latest Mojo magazine and also the latest Shindig! from Borders book shop. Nice to see Shindig! in a proper shop down here as usually i only see it in London (and usually at Intoxica!).
So another comp CDR for the pub tomorrow.
