Saturday and the Weekend
Feb. 17th, 2008 08:35 am Last night went to a publican's 60th Birthday party and met GC and Christine but the venue had changed - the party was at The Crescent. So we get there and Kieren (the publican) recognises GC and gives us two glasses of white wine and real ale fror me. Then once we finished those i blagged the barmaid to give us a second round as it was on Kierne's tab, and then a third round. So we got three rounds of drink without paying a penny!!
GC said "I've got lots of balls!" Yo better believe it honey.
Yesterday was the last day of the Marina job - four days of work which will be paid on the first Tuesday of next month. Tomorrow start a job to do with cruises as the advert associated with the study i saw on Saturday.
Before going down the \Marina i found some cheap vinyl in charity shops -
Milt Jackson - Big Mouth (Pablo 1981 LP) - two funky jazzy vibe numbers and a nice cool album
Paul Mauriat Salutes The Beatles (Contour LP) - strange quirky version of "Lady Madonna" and "Get Back"
Yarbrough and Peebles - Don't stop The Music (Mercury 12") - could be my theme song!!!
Very cold last few days with a biting wind but saturday was not as bad and found sheltered sopts at the Marina along the boardwalk so i mostly interviewed there.
Found an old Gil Scott-Heron novel at home which i havent read, (ths was before Gil became a musician) ,with the unfortunate title of "The Nigger factory" (Payback press). His other novel is "The Vulture" - no not a vinyl vulure (tee he). As Gil would say "the Revolution Will not be televised,it will be live." Anyway started reading it and it's very good, a consumate writer, and a pity he didn't write more. Anyway i love his music and perhaps that was a better route for him.
GC pointed out i seem to do less here and post mostly YouTube vids, and she might have a point as i find myself gravitating towards VG+ these days as it is a vinyl music only website. But don't fear dear readers i shall still do some jottings here.
