Internet and TV are fine now. Lorna phoned to say that TV was working when she arrived home from work,so cancelled the engineer for tomorrow.

Anyway a good day in london. Picked up loads of free albums from VG+ colleagues Willie Fogg and Bongolia. Also a lovely meal at The Goose in Croydon as i did a mystery shop there.

Picked up a few more albums (six for a quid) from the Heart Foundation shop. A mixed bag - the best two being Peter Hurt Orchestra "Lost For Words" (Spotlite LP)  and Various "Great Ellingtonians" (World Record Club 2xLP) ,whilst a few i listened to and thought not for me really which will get recycled. Still at less than 25p a disc you can take risks when you are unsure of the goodies contained within. Why i picked up a late 1988 Status Quo LP is something that even mystifies me as needle dropped a few places on the record revealed nothing of interest.

I am a sucker for LPs with scantily dressed ladies on or no clothes on at all. A lot of the 12 Tops albums on Stereo Gold Award are like that as well as those classic Top of the Pops albums and the Hot Hits ones from MFP. My favourite one being the Ohio Players "Honey" album. Sex sells didn't you know that, so endeth my scat.

Got  a new phone with answerphone today as the old Binatone answering machine and the landline phone device were getting quite old and not working properly, with messages being cut-off mid sentence for no apparent reason.

L went on a shopping trip to London flushed with £500 but only spent £75 on a leather DKNY handbag in John Lewis, and some Clarins cosmetics.

Decided to get a better turntable which i might buy tomorrow. Still undecided between a Rega or a Project or even splash out on a Linn deck. The latter can be a bit fiddly to set up though and the other two are much simpler in design and a lot less money. Also i still want to have two direct drive turntables and a mixer for my DJ habit, and i have already eyed up a classic Technics deck for one of them.

All i needed today was a new watch and rather than spend silly money  on some designer one i got a cheap Casio analog for a tenner in H Samuels. Rather spend the money on quality vinyl or a CD box set. Yeh,music is my blood man. Designer stuff don't cut ice with me and all that bling don't impress me.
