Daniel Johnston
Apr. 16th, 2008 07:10 pm Time seemed to have got away from me today as i was meant to do so much but after a double shift in Portslade yesterday with the tiresome Andy Parr i was all strung out for most of the day.
So today been getting into the quirky but quite brilliiant music of Daniel Johnston after watching the DVD "The Devil and Daniel Johnston". Two recent CDs bought cheap from Amazon in the States has made me appreciate how wonderful his music is really is.With the compilation "Welcome To My World" (Eternal Yip Eye Music CD) arriving in the post this morning has given me a good overview of his ouvre. I know that he is one of Byron Coley's favourites alongside with Jandek.
Another piece of quirky outsider music.
Today i bougt Alan Licht's book on "Sound Art" from Waterstones, and an LP of Romanian jazz music from Borderline. Must get some work done tomorrow.
