Saturday night i did a PRS visit to The Churchill Palace Hotel (Casablanca Club). A live visit to make a note of what the band Soul City was playing. They did not start til twenty mins after midnight and finished just before two thiity in the morning, but they were good, doing covers only, esp. of Stevie Wonder tunes. Also covered "Pick up The Pieces" by Average White Band.

Had a free Guiness from the club's owner too!

Quadrant Brillo is now just three weeks away.

A trip to Uckfield on Sunday to do  a mystery shop at the  Tesco superstore there. Morning was the usual visit to the station car boot fair which got peppered by cloudburst and some lightning. Picked up a few reggae singles and a fine excellent condition copy of  Dave Brubeck's "The Impressions of Eurasia" 45 (Fontana 1958) complete with picture sleeve for 50p from Arthur.

Also picked a finer copy of Pink Floyd's "Meddle" album.

The list -

Dave Brubeck - Impressions of Eurasia (Fontana 45)
Black Widow - Wish You Would (CBS 45)
Alan Parker - Angels (Beeb 45)
Boris Gardner - Elzabethan Reggae (Duke 45)
Max Romeo - Wet Dream (Unity 45)

Pink Floyd - Meddle (Harvest LP)
The Cannonball Adderley Sextet - In New York (Riverside LP)
Various Artists  - Totally Wired 4 (Acid Jazz LP)
Various Artists -  All Good Clean Fun (United Artists 2xLP)

The boot fair is closed for the next three weeks so will have to go to BHASVIC instead.

Note for the funky minded - Echoes on the Pink Floyd LP has a bit of funkiness which could be mixed with "Fencewalk" by Mandrill. One to try on the 20th!!

I have this LP by Stan Butcher and his Birds And Brass sinply cllaed "Bird and Brass" (CBS LP) whichis mostly cheezy easy stuff and i wonderd if it has anything to do with Burds N' Brass which recorded on the Rediffusion label?  Well as far as i can tell nothing whatsover but i am still after the original Rediffusion albums by Birds N' Brass which was run by Keith Roberts.
