Wakehurst Place and Osibisa
Sep. 27th, 2008 05:50 pmStill a problem with the Pc so i am back at the internet cafe.
Had a nice quiwet day at Wakehurst Place doing a mystery shop. First the Stables restaurant and then the cafe afterwards with a nice quiet period of contemplation in between. Just sitting on the grass and watching the world go by,and the ducks feed and play by the lake. So peaceful there.
Still prefer the hustle and bustle of a city. However it was serene and enabled bm,e to read some John Betjeman and Sylvia Plath poetry without being disturbed.
Last night i saw Osibisa live. they were playing at the Unitarian Church on this free music festival which has been on during the last three days in trhe city.

The place was packed out and i could only find a spot to the side of the band. They were good. Reminded me of their great albums on MCA records but went off the boil somewhat when they transfered to the Bronze label. Must dig them out and play the records again.
On the way back form the church i found some CDs in a box with a "please take me" bit of paper stuck to it. On getting said box home found it was mostly compilations of modern disco music plus three Moby CDs and one by K T Tunstall, oh and one by Dido which the wife already has.. Ugh! Well at least they could sold on or exchanged for something better.
Monday shall detach all connections to poorly sick PC and take it down to that repair shop in New England Street. Just hope it won't cost too much to sort it out.
