Weekend Finds
Nov. 16th, 2008 11:11 amFriday i had a trip to Farnborough to do a survey for Wickes. The town is just as dismal as Crawley and just as ugly. Only saw three charity shops with little in the way of vinyl to entice me. Picked up a 12" of De La Soul "Say No Go" or 50 pence and the same for Dee-Lite "Groove Is In The Hert".
Saurday popped down to Borderline and their vinyl sale is still on. Picked up Rubbles vol. 10 on vinyl for £7.
Then picked up a John Barry double vinyl compilation from the street market for a quid.
This morning the usual Sunday car bootie was back, although I had assumed it wasn't on due to engineering works. A bit surpised but pleasantly so.
Picked up the following cheaply -
Jackie McLean - Strange Blues (Prestige LP)
Thelonious Monk - Monk's Dream (CBS)
Joni Mitchell - Blue (Reprise LP)
Nina Simone - Work Song (Marble Arch LP)
John Martyn - Solid Air (Island LP)
Various - Fill Your Head With Rock (CBs 2xLP)
Blue Oyster Cult - Agents Of Fortune (CBS LP)
The lot for thirteen pounds.
Plus two singles for 50 pence each -
Deep Purple - Black Night (Harvest)
Deep Purple - Strange Kind Of Woman (Harvest)
Some of these will be useful for the prog night down at the Eastern pub this evening.
Also picked up the latest Wire magazine and the latest Shindig (both from Borders).
