Observations and Beer
Jan. 29th, 2009 11:28 pmWalking up the hill from doing some deals at Wax Factor i bumped into Nigel coming down the opposite direction and he asked if I was going to church - the church of drinking known as The Evening Star, - as we both are part of the congregation of that establishment. Anyway got through the pulpit to be greeted by Pam,Dave Jarrett, and our local postie.Had two pints of Six Hop Ale, (6.5 % ABV) and then Pam buys me a third. So i went home very merry indeed!
Yesterday late afternoon i popped into the Quadrant for a half of ale and i saw GC's friend John Moss having a glass of wine looking as disheveled and grumpy as usual. I don't know if he did spot at all or simply not talking to me but i thought to myself why are you drinking in one of my haunts. Perhaps he wants to go to one of my DJ gigs there? Does he know me as DJ Jazzy D and seen the sign of my gig on the 21st Feb outside the pub?
Wednesday evening i did a PRS visit to the Ranelagh Arms in St.James Street .It was a live blues night with Scott H Biram from Austin,Texas and his style of electric blues. It reminded me much of the music of Seasick Steve with a bit of Tom Waits thrown in to the mix.The pub was packed out for the event. The pub has a decent Harveys Old Ale on tap too! The music was awesome and gritty, and his two CDs are dead cheap on Amazon at the moment. Worth buying infact.
Made my first sale on Discogs as well. Sold a CD for £15 to a guy in Germany which i posted today. Instant payment via Paypal. This is where the old internet becomes really useful, and with the money earned from Homepages is another avenue of diversifying areas of funding when the main income sources are fluctuating.i shall add more CDs to the Discogs Marketplace tomorrow.I am also revitilizing my Gemm trade site as well.
It is quite funny observing strangers who come into the Evening Star pub asking for Guiness and lager, when it is a real ale pub and that the Guiness word is a banned one,and not to be mentioned again. However that is the way we convert people to our cause, our religion of the good ale,and i shall drink to that. Amen!
