Pub Quizzing

 Last night GC , Christine and I was in a quiz team at the Signalman pub. We called ourselves the Three Stooges and we came fifth out of ten teams. This is the second time we have done a pub quiz. The last time, which was  our debut , was the previous Tuesday at the same pub. That time we had Sue and Annie (but not Christine) and we came fourth!

We hope to continue this every Tuesday.

Our weakest section was on current affairs and our two strongest was on the theme of blue (Blue Danube, blue ball in snooker equals 5 points, the Blue Cross animal charity and so on) and film tunes (E.T - John Williams, The Exorcist - Mike Oldfield, and so on). Our Geography was quite good too. So we now need to swat up on various subjects and determine our individual strong areas and weak points 'caus we want to be in the top three!

This is a very good and pertinent point. I still think that marijuana is no more bad than tobacco is, and i would prefer to smoke the former substance. It should be totally decriminalized as i think tobacco and alcohol can do more harm yet they are still legal. I think, as it was rightly pointed out in one of the Family Guy cartoons by Brian (the dog),  that they wanted to stop hemp from replacing paper in the USA, since hemp would be cheaper to produce.

That is why i think the weed is illegal.

Er,what is a vinyl?

When i was in Shoreham last week and bought the two classical albums, none of the vinyl was priced so i asked the young lady how much were the LP's. She looked at me with a blank stare as though i came from another planet. "LP's " she queried. "Yes, the albums, how much?" and again got a strange frown and then i said, "the vinyl, the black stuff in that box!", pointing quite furiously at it. 

Iit was then the penny dropped with her and she realised what i meant. I doubt she has ever seen a piece of vinyl in either format, long playing or single!
