The Dover Castle
Jan. 17th, 2011 02:02 pmI have a damn cold at the moment. Sniffling nose, and the occasional cough and sneeze. However last night we went up to the Dover Castle to see Phil. I hate being stuck indoors with the cold anyway.
Some people came and did an impromptu open mike session. Phil had his Yamaka keyboard and i discovered what a fantastic player he is, especially with the classcal pieces and some jazz tunes.. He says he is a bit rusty but it did not seem that way to me. To refer to that overused cliche it was totally awesome.
He is on a two week vocation starting today down in Cornwall. He goes there every year.
The beer helped with the cold - well that's my excuse and i am sticking with it. We left the pub about three in the morning!

Newcastle Rewind
Jan. 17th, 2011 07:01 pmI am watching Great British Railway Journeys on BBC2 with Michael Portilo. The journey today started in Newcastle Upon Tyne. He was walking around the centre of the city where i walked a few years back when i DJ'ed for the Byker Groove weekend. The programme also showed newer developments such as the Millenium Bridge.
It took me back to my wonderful weekend there.
