Cup Football
Jan. 30th, 2011 09:32 pmToday and yesterday have been F.A. Cup days with the Fourth Round of the competition, and again, the cup has given us some upsets and thrills. My team, Brighton & Hove Albion away to Watford from the Championship won 1-0. They have a real tough visit to Premiership Stoke in the next round. Non-league Crawley bruised their way to the next round with an away win at Torquay. It has been over 17 years since a non-league team reached the fifth round and for their effort they have a fairy tale visit to Manchester United. I doubt they would get any further as I expect the Reds to thrash them convincingly.
Tim and I was watching the Notts County v. Manchester City match on TV to see a 1-1 draw despite the fact that County scored first. The replay will probably be in City’s favour but all respect goes to Paul Ince’s team for giving the most expensive team in the Premiership a scare for their money.
