My favourite game as a child was Subbuteo Football. It was the nearest table top game that simulated the real thing.

I ws talking to Mark (not postie Mark) about Dada and Surrealism and he pointed me to this Hans Richter classic. It reminds me a bit of Brion Gysin's Dream Machine.

Had a trip to London today. Took some old vinyl up to exchange for new stuff. Ended up getting some CDs cheap and another paperback for a quid – David Storey “Flight Into Camden” (Virago).

Whilst in Notting Hill had a few beers at a pub called the Prince Albert , the same one Tim and I visited last time. Had Caledonian Flying Dutchman (4.5 % ABV) and then to Itsu for some Japanese teriyaki chicken.

Finished reading the Simone de Beauvoir book “The Bonds of Freedom” and started “Waterland” by Graham Swift.. I will get round to reading the spy classic from John LeCarre, but after Swift.

Tomorrow evening is my DJ night, but will be using the laptop, and I can hear the vinyl purists tut tutting already behind my back. Unless Manu can sort out something, then it will be a vinyl-less night, bereft of the pleasure of putting a slab of plastic onto a turntable,. hence the current ontological angst. The facticity of using mp3's !
