I am certain that the electricity key meter is wrong as it seems to be eating up money. Another seventeen quid put on it this morning. Possibly could need checking.

Cousin is still on tender hooks pertaining to the outcome of his missed medical appointment a week ago. He is so stressed at the moment and the fact that the microwave has gone kaput is not helping. He is hoping that it will be not be adverse on his benefits.

This morning I have been listening to the Norah Jones album “Feel Like Home”. In some ways it reminds me off that classic Joni Mitchell album “Blue”.I know they are musically far apart from each other but that feeling of ennui is roughly the same. Melancholy is the theme of the day.

Perhaps I should follow it with some Dr. John from his “Gris Gris” album. A bit of swamp blues is just what the good doctor might order, Dr. Benway, William Burrough's nemesis in “Naked Lunch”.Full of those voodoo rhythms that makes New Orleans so special.

I have now completed reading the “Logicomix” graphic novel on the search for mathematical truth by Bertrand Russell, and in its narration has breezily discussed some difficult ideas that permeate mathematics, logic and philosophy. A thoroughly good read.

I took advantage of the fact that there was no trains ,on due to engineering works, and took a free bus ride to Faversham and back. I sold some books at Past Sentence, and picked up another cheap charity shop purchase - J. M Coetzee's “Slow Man” novel.

So now it is back to finishing off the Charles Bukowski book “Tales Of Ordinary Madness”. The film version of it , starring Ben Gazarra, was pretty good, but to read the book is better.
