The Spectacular Donation Displacement
Apr. 12th, 2012 09:34 pmOn a round robin trip through Kent today, once again got soaked by April showers. I first nipped into Faversham to pick up some pipe shag.
Then took the bus to Canterbury and then to Deal. In Deal got a T shirt and a book by Peter Ackroyd, “Don Leno and The Limehouse Golem” (Vintage). I then went to another charity shop and bought some books, and had to do a revisit as well. The two books I bought on the first visit was accidentally donated to the charity shop I bought the Ackroyd novel from. I had a bunch of stuff to give , and I still have the ones I did intend to donate. What a plonker am 1?
I felt quite miffed as one of them was the Nick Hornby book “31 Songs”.
I then went to Dover and picked up six books for 20 pence each, but due to the bad weather some of them got soaked and I had to dry them out on the radiator.
I finished back in Canterbury and purchased cousin's late birthday present , Elvis Costello and The Imposters “Spectacular Spinning Song Book” (Hippo Records CD/ DVD) from HMV. It is a live gig from last year, and he is doing it again this year. A gig cousin would murder for going to see him live again , and in Spot's word “is God”. So if any kind soul has a spare ticket you know where to send it.
My brother is seeing him live this year as well.
