Powered Up Jazzy D Style
Jun. 8th, 2012 10:37 pmThis morning I bought a new mains adaptor for my laptop as the old one finally packed up on me, and I had been borrowing Tim’s in the meantime. It is also a lot lighter and a snip at fifteen quid. They use to be so expensive at one time, but like external hard drives and multi port USB hubs, have come down in price substantially.
I also did a round trip towards Canterbury and back to Maidstone, calling at Mountain Warehouse in the cathedral city, and Pret in Maidstone.
In Faversham picked up a couple of books from the Faversham Society shop , “Jazz Masters Of The 50s” by Joe Goldberg (Da Capo Press) and “The Birth Of Bebop, A Social and Musical History” by Scott DeVeaux (Picador).
Another slab of vinyl arrived in the post this morning. One which has been enthused about on the verygoodplus website -
“Mountain Moving Day” The Chicago and New Haven Women’s Liberation Rock Band (Rounder Records). Released way back in 1972.

It will be one I shall play tomorrow night alongside the Triste Janero album , and the excellent Count Basie “Afrique” LP. I am Djing at the Northern Lights in Brighton. Hopefully, a great night.

I wonder if these two reprobates will come along and join me!
