Lovely Day
Jan. 3rd, 2013 10:13 pmThis morning I walked to Sittingbourne to go to the Office. It was a lovely mild sunny day and I took advantage of it. It took a few minutes less than an hour to complete my leisurely walk to the town.
My cousin Spot had gone to Sittingbourne to get his money and do some food shopping. He missed the 2 pm bus by a few minutes and phoned me wanting to know where I was. I just left the Office and about to walk to the train station. He said he was in Wetherspoons to wait for the next bus and thus I walked back to join him. He was drinking a Guinness and gave me a pint of real ale. We then caught the next bus together. I carried the heavy bag of glass jars, such as Branson's pickle and the one you either love or hate, Marmite.
Still some meat left from the Hamper, especially the top notch venison and the chorizo which we might have over the weekend.
Tomorrow he will be getting a new washing machine which will be here on Saturday. I will be doing some visits including three Icelands, a Wetherspoons and one in Ashford. Another round trip via Faversham to Hythe, Dover, Deal and Herne Bay.
This evening I was listening to the penultimate probe into culture by Melvin Bragg on Radio 4 – just one of the fascinating programmes on that station along with The Material World ( a science programme) and In Our Time.
