FTLC and Vinyl Hunting
Mar. 29th, 2013 09:19 amYesterday met up with Lesley,Mike and Graeme, along with GC, for the first FTLC (Floating Tuesday or Thursday Lunch Club) of the year. The venue was the new Bellota tapas restaurant, which was formerly a La Tasca branch, and the food was way way much better than the fare from the previous company.
The garlic bread was soft and moist, the white fish was succulent and the batter was so light and crispy, the chorizo were divine and the potato dish with the quash and fried egg a brilliant idea and was scrumptious. All for just ender a tenner minus wine, coffee and brandies.
Afterwards Mike Graeme and myself walked up to the Jolly Butcher pub and had a few beers. Then we went our separate ways.
I walked down to Sandpiper Books and bought a novel for two quid , and then as i was walking up Trafalgar Street I met Ville walking down in the opposite direction. He was going to Rare Kind Records to get the latest Nicole Willis and The Soul Investigators album. So I walked with him and picked up six singles for £12 - which were -
The Temptations - Power (Gordy)
Marlena Shaw - It's Better Than Walking Out (Blue Note)
Slave - Slide / Son Of Slide (Cotillion)
Hairy Diamond - Torture (PPQ Records)
Shocking Blue - Give My Love To The Sunrise (Pink Elephant)
Hero No.7 - Keeping It Real (Hero Records)
Then i walked down to the Northern Lights and got a booking for May 4th, my next DJ gig, which will be apt as we plan to have the next FTLC on May 9th, which happens to be my brother's birthday.
Then i walked back up to the station, popping into the Evening Star on the way, and had a pint of the Six Hop ale and a pint of the Brodies Cranberry IPA (7.0 % ABV),before arriving back in Seaford.
