Yesterday was the sunniest day so far, well as far as I remember for this year. It was an opportunity to complete all these visits before the end of the month.

I first popped over to Faversham early morning to get some pipe tobacco, and then over to Sittingbourne to do a stint at the Office. Afterwards, I departed the town via train to get to Gillingham to do the first of my two Medway charity shop visits, followed by one in Rochester.

Whilst in Rochester I noticed some people were dressed up in Victorian clothing , and realised that the town is doing something related to Charles Dickens over the weekend period. One young lad looked like Pip in Great Expectations.

I then took the bus down to Maidstone and did my second group of visits in Paddocks Wood, and ended up back in Maidstone to savour some Ben & Jerry's ice cream at the Odeon cinema.

Bought mostly books, a couple of CDs and one item of clothing. One of the CDs is the reissue of Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section, a classic jazz session from 1957. I was going to concentrate on books at this charity shop in Paddock Wood , but (and here is the alliteration) the fickled finger of fate led me to this wonderful CD. Perhaps it was shouting at me from behind the dross that masquerades as music these days.

Anyway, a great find nonetheless

Downloaded a couple more albums from Trunk yesterday evening for fifty pence each - excellent stuff,  eastern flavoured jazz and sleazy R&B
