Well hasn't it been another scorcher! I am not complaining, after the  wet year we had previously this is a bonus.

I had a couple of visits to do in Brighton and Hove (actually), and congruent with this ,a visit to the Evening Star.
First port of call was Brighton in which i did a purchase and refund shop, with a drink at Wetherspoons in North Street in between. I quaffed a fine Longman Brewery Golden Tipple (5.0 % ABV) at 'Spoons.

After the refund, i took a bus up to the Evening Star to imbibe in a pint in the newish Dark Star Red Shift (5.5 % ABV). My verdict - totally awesome dude!

Then i met Ville just by chance in town, and we had a long chat. It was his lunch break from work.

Time was flying by, but no pigs. So i decided to hop on a bus towards Hove to do my other mystery shop visit in Blatchington Road. Picked up three books for five quid from the British Red Cross chazzer ,and another book from Oxfam for a quid.

These are -

James Joyce - A Portrait of The Artist As A Young Man (Penguin)
Leo Tolstoy - The Kreutzer Sonata (Penguin)
Henning Mankell - The White Lioness (Vintage)
John Morgan - The End Of Science (Abacus)

As\i was in Hove i popped in to see Julian at Fine Records. I am glad to see this excellent music shop still there , full of classical and pop CDs and vinyl as well, and still thriving in these difficult trading times. I had to buy some music One  a classical music sampler, and one world music CD -

Various - Short Cuts, Freaking The Sound Barrier (Argo)

Simon Shaheen  - The Music Of Mohamed Abdel Wahab (Axiom)

(Just checked Amazon and they are selling this for £37 new or £23 used. Got mine for just over a fiver). I do love Bill Laswell's Axiom label. and they are always worth getting if you see them cheap.

It was now close to four in the afternoon and the heat was getting to me , ever so slightly, so I decided to head for the beach, the Naturalist beach near the Marina. Went totally au natural, not a stitch on, and sunbathed for just under an hour.

Afterwards, i felt thirsty again, and thus had a final beer at 'Spoons in the Marian. A  pint of Dark Star Original (5.0 % ABV). It was just beginning o cool off with a soft breeze, and i took this photo from where i was sitting outside of the pub.

Been a thoroughly productive day, coupled with glorious sunshine, and a tan that looks good.
