This was a right pigs ear of a visit when yesterday i tried to do a survey at Aylesham station. I had to buy a single ticket from there to Canterbury at the ticket office which was meant to stay opened til 1.30 pm. When i got there and walked down the hill to the station i saw the ticket office person inside and as i approached he closed up. He closed 45 minutes before he should have done and my instructions were clear that i could not get a ticket on the train. I was hopping mad and wasted a bus ticket getting there.
Aylesham itself is a somewhat dour former coal mining town about eight miles from Canterbury.
In the end i bought some books and CDs from charity shops in Canterbury. All around a quid each -

Evelyn Glennie - Veni Veni Emmanuel (Catalyst)
Henryk Gorecki - Symphony No.3 (Nonesuch)

The Penguin Book Of Accompanied Songs (Penguin)
Modern European Art (Thames & Hudson)
Today i will spent most of the morning in the Office.
