Eastbourne Beer Festival
Oct. 13th, 2013 02:44 pmWell, what a weekend that was, or at least yesterday when i travelled by train to the Eastbourne Beer Festival. Arrived at the station about 10. 35 am with my brother waiting for me, and then we walked down to the Winter Gardens where the festival was bung held.

We waited in the queue, got our beer vouchers and free festival glass, and then found somewhere to sit. We both started with a session beer and working our ways up to more substantial beers. This was what i had in half pint sizes mind you -
Skinners Ginger Tosser , aka Chris Evans (3.8 % ABV)
Sanbrook Battersea Rye (4.0 % ABV)
Salopian Lemon Dream (4.5 % ABV)
Twickenham Naked Ladies (4.4 % ABV)
Wolf Your Granny Wouldn't Like It (4.8 % ABV)
Kelham Island Pale Rider (5.2 % ABV)
Thornbridge Jaipur (5.9 % ABV)
Beachy Head Christmas Ale (6.0 % ABV)
Kissingate Six Crows (6.6 % ABV)
Orkney Skull Splitter (8.5 % ABV)
Robinsons Old Tom (8.5 % ABV)

There was a couple of live bands, one of them returning again from the previous year, the American, folk and bluegrass group Pocket Size with an attractive female lead singer.

My bro secretly took a picture of me after my first strong ale, the Skull Splitter!
Afterwards, I took the train to Brighton, popped into the Northern Lights to confirm a DJ gig and then went to so a mystery shop at Nando's before my return journey back to Kent.

On the train from Faversham to Teynham I met a couple of guys and a lass who live in the village and i was talking to them about pubs, music, where I been earlier today , our local pubs , and invited them (Chris and Kevin) to the Dover Castle. Spot was already there but left just after midnight. The guys left at one and i was still chatting with Phil at 2 am.
Kevin is also a DJ and i have his business card, and he said he will give me some hints on DJ techniques PAARRRRTTTY!
