Well, despite the cold symptoms, we trundled off to Brighton late afternoon to splash out on a gorgeous dinner at Cafe Rouge at the Marina. We had a scrumptious starter and  a succulent main course and only had to pay for the drinks as the dinner was paid through a Tesco loyalty scheme, all forty pounds worth of it!

Afterwards, we drove into the centre of the city and got our ticket for the film at the Duke of York Picturehouse cinema, and because we had an hour to spare had a drink at the Evening Star  pub. I had a pint of The New Bristol Brewery India Sugar And Spice Ale (6.5 % ABV) at a very reasonable four quid a pint.

The gents toilet , which was an ugly sick coloured green, has now been wallpapered with loads of Marvel and DC comic strips.

The film we saw was "Yves Saint Laurent", a fictional biopic of the famous fashion designer. It was good ,although IMHO it could have been a bit shorter, as there was a moment i almost nodded until i got prodded by GC. .

Mind you, it could have been the lager with the meal followed by the strong ale at the pub afterwards that made me feel a bit woozy. Joking apart, it was a very good satisfying day, and i will sleep like a log and lay in the morning for awhile.

This morning i took the train over to Hove.I was running late after a bit of a sleep-in and decided to use the y=train rather than the bus, I had forgotten how expensive train rides can be as the journey to Hove via Lewes and Brighton was £7.70 , £4.80 to Brighton and £2.90 to Hove on a return ticket. I was advised that the two separate tickets were fifty pence cheaper than one that covered all the journey on one ticket.

Anyway, i arrived in Hove and walked down to George Street to meet Lorna at Costa Coffee.I wanted to the gist of her ailment, and found out that she managed to get to work before getting the ambulance to take her to hospital. The doctor at the hospital said she was very lucky. She has eight different tablets to take.

We spent about an hour together having a cup of rosey lea and sharing a panini.

I then did some charity shop browsing and squired about a classical CD at Fine Records. I surprise Julian again. He did not have the CD in question but looked online for it and was available on the Chandos label, so i shall try Amazon at some point.

I found four books for a quid in total at a Martlets charity shop. These are as follows -

I took the train back and decided to stop off in Lewes to do the travel agent mystery shop. Once done, I was thirsty and popped into the Gardner Arms for a pint of Waen Blackberry Stout (3.8 % ABV).

After a satisfying drink , i went back to Brighton to visit my old haunt, The Evening Star Pub and had a pint and a half of the Dark Star Rebel Alliance (6.5 % ABV). I met a fe old friends including the famous / infamous Rick (the Hat), although nowadays he no longer sports a hat of any kind and has grown a beard and mustache , looking more like a hermit or wandering wayfarer.

The Evening Star gent;s toilet has all these comic strips as wallpaper, and the old camera phone did not do the place its full justice, so this time i used the Canon camera.

Afterwards, I went back to Seaford to do my report for the visit.
