I fell asleep around ten and due to my mind racing over things I am now wider awake again. It has been one of those days so I shall listen to some smooth jazz to calm me down starting with that George Benson album.

So I walked into Sittingbourne this morning and arrived a few minutes just after they had opened. The female assistant remembered me and realised that i had left my card in the bank and that they had put it in the safe overnight. As i needed to draw some money out I did a quick mini statement and found that the money fraudulently taken from me is also back in.

I am now off to have one celebratory drink before i go back home.

The panic is over!

So after going yto the bank I popped into the Demelza charity shop and bought four CD, s for a quid. O am now in Spoons drinking a festive ale + Mateo. And Bernabe Fermin Red Ale (5.8 % ABV). Hola Compadre's!

Crikey, had a siesta this afternoon. Well, after the Spanish ale had a can of that Sixpoint Bengali Tiger ale , a strong one from the States, and then back in the village had a pint of Courage Best Bitter (4.0 % ABV) with my cousin. He had lager. Then back home a can of a Polish German styled Bock beer.

The CD's i got for a pound are -

Plus a BBC Music CD of classical music by Elgar,Vaughan Williams and Arthur Bliss. Yes, 25 pence each. Bargains!

Here is a tip to get rid of those nasty stickers or sellotape  off CD's and records. A lint free cloth and a bottle or can of lighter fluid is what you need. Soak the CD case or the LP cover where the offending stickers are, leave for a minute and then use the cloth to rub off the item. They either peel off easily and  rarely leave a mess afterwards. If tough, repeat process till case is clean.

ADDENDUM
It is also good for removing annoying stickers etc from paperback books and dust jackets of hardbacks.

Soul Music

I have been a soul music fan for over forty years and i am still finding great soul music, and from some unusual places. A case in point is the Eurythmics CD i got today. Not even considered that Annie Lennox was ever a soul singer as their music is mostly pop but the final track "Was It Just Another Love Affair?" hits the spot. Feels like a Jam and Lewis type od soul vibe. Enjoy.

Mary J Blige, i must admit, i have not considered before, but the CD from my bargain hall today is a revelation with top tracks such as Everything and her version of a n Aretha Franklin tune , Natural Woman.

Great version of the Aretha Franklin classic.

Then the Boyz II Men album, whilst half good, threw up some surprises, in particular the swinging Motown Philly. Feet go crazy!
