I did a mix, uploaded it to Soundcloud and they would not convert it for playback because one of the tracks, Alicia Keys, is copyrighted. O fiddlesticks!  All that wasted time.

After the lovely day yesterday , this morning the ground was wet and currently looks a bit dull. Hopefully it will brighten up later during my journey to the Sussex coast.

Meanwhile, a light jazzy tune to wake you up,  by Spyro Gyra and is called Morning Dance.

Enjoy.

I first popped over to Faversham to sell some books and buy some pipe tobacco  before my trip to the Sussex coast. For some reason or another, and more likely poor time keeping, I did not leave the village till one in the afternoon.

On my journey down, i got talking to an elderly gent who was reading a book i recognized. This was on the bus leaving Maidstone. The distinctive blue dust jacket read "Citizens" on the inside cover, and i knew straight away that it was the Simon Schama book on The French Revolution. I mentioned the fact that i have the same book in what i would term "must read" pile of books.

We then got talking about Charles Dickens, He mentioned a biography by Claire Tomalin on Dickens   and recommended the book to me. Whilst in Tunbridge Wells, having a small latte at Pret, i decided to have a quick gander at some of the charity shop, and blow me, down , i found the said book in hardback at Age UK for £1.50  Serendipity strikes again, plus, it has to be bargain of the day!

I  have discovered the speech to text feature of my tablet ,quite by accident using the mobile version of LJ,  and whilst some words or phrases ,depending on your speech patterns and accuracy, it gets wrong , overall it is quite fun to use. I tend to use it whilst traveling about and then tidy up anything that looks weird or out of place when i get home. I think it is quite brilliant.

Book 34 - Christina Rossetti, "The Complete Poems (Penguin Classics)" (Penguin)

I haven't actually read every single poem in this book as yet, but the majority of the poems which are not religious ones, but I've dipped in and out of it.

Christina Rossetti's writing is lovely and rich. 'Goblin Market' is probably the best known, or it's the one I knew anyway, and that's a good example of how rich and sensual her writing can be, but the rest of her poetry is definitely worth a look, too.
