Good morning folks. It is a bright Spring day here in Seaford, East Sussex , and i am wide awake with a full day ahead of me. I have picked out this top tune from my favourite Prefab Sprout album, Steve McQueen, for my morning wake-up tune. Enjoy Faron Young.

Georgina and I will be swanning our way up to Burgess Hill today. She has a mystery shop and we will be hunting for bargains in the charity shops, and after we come back for a midday snack, i will going out to Brighton to visit the Evening Star , of course, and if time permits, pop in to see Julian at Fine Records, and then to Brighton library in the evening for the World Book Night events, which kicks off at 5 pm with Murder In The Library.

Just have to make sure my alibi is tight.

This morning we visited Burgess Hill , and whilst GC had a visit to Santander, i perused the charity shops.  I remember from past trips to the town that it is usually not the best place for top finds music wise, but this morning was different. In the British heat Foundation store i found a Kooks limited edition 7" single (You Don't Love Me)  with two enhanced CD singles for £2.50 , which i am now selling online for £5.50., BUT the real find of the day was  from the Salvation Army chazzer - a four CD box set retrospective of the music of Dan Fogelberg - for a mere pound - and checking online at Discogs the cheapest price for one is £40 , so i pitched my copy in at £38.

Burgess Hill will have a Wetherspoons opening up at the end of  the month. So a possible future visit for me!

GC then dropped me back in Brighton near The Level and i sauntered to the Red Cross charity shop in London Road and bought this book on British cinema for fifty pence -

I had a quick look at the library of books in the radical left wing eaterie and meeting place The Cowley Club .

I bought the latest issue of The Wire magazine in the Resident  record shop. Then a paperback book for two pounds from Sandpiper Bookshop.

Then it was time to visit my old haunt, The Evening star pub. Mt a couple of freinds in there. Imbibed the following pints - Brighton Bier Mr.Dunkel (4.7 % ABV) , Arbor Triple Hop (4.0 % ABV) , and a Hawskead Cumbrian 5 Hop (5.0 % ABV), plus a half of Brodie's Tea Stout (7.0 % ABV).

Then it was time to visit the library, which will be in my following post.
