Two DVD's

Bit of a late night  film session for me with a couple of DVD's i started watching. The first one was the film version of one of David Nicholls' novels One Day and the other was the film version of the novel by Zoe Heller, Notes From A Scandal. The latter film was the better more fulfilling one. Cate Blanchett plays Sheba and Judi Dench as the calculating lonely manipulative spinster Barbara. Intriguing and thrilling adaptation of a great novel. For those who need the synopsis it is under the cut.

The film version of One Day was just a bit too slow going for me, and i could not relate to the characters.

Wine Is Good For You, Full Of Iron

A Cd which i bought when it came out was by folkie troubadour iron and Wine , and this morning i listened to it again after a couple of years being left on the shelf.  The album is called Our Endless Numbered Days and the track i have chosen is Sunset Soon Forgotten. Enjoy.

Additions

Just added a couple of more books to the Items For Sale post i did the other day. Have to go to Sittingbourne this afternoon for a mandatory visit to the JC for some latest information, which may or may not be useful. We shall see.

Blah Blah

Two hours at the Office which I felt was a waste of time. The day hss been crap to tell you the truth. It has been raining and it still is in a precipitative mood, hence the reason for a quick pint in Spoons.

Bloom

Well,after a a few hours spent in the Office and having that beer, i checked out the Demelza charity shop to see if they had any more 25 pence bargains. Just found one by folk or folk-rock singer Lou Rhodes and the album Bloom which came out in 2007. Nor heard of her before , and it is really  a good enjoyable album nonetheless.

I particularly like the title track -
