So this evening i have been sorting out tracks to play at my gig tomorrow night at The Northern Lights (Wednesday 39th),and here is just a sample of the funky grooves i will play.

Starting with this classic butt moving groove -

From the Spirit of The Boogie by Kool and The Gang to a top notch salsa version of Take Five by Tito Puente. Ariba!

A bit of bossa nova coolness too. This time the lovely voice of Bebel Gilberto and Sem Contencao -

The Salsa and Bossa goes well, so here is the Tamba Trio from 1964 with Boranda -

One of my favourite out there jazz tunes that blows my audiences minds is this one by Pharoah Sanders, You Gotta Have Freedom. -

Finally , from this small selection, i always play some Jamiroquai and one of my favourites is Cosmic Girl.

Enjoy!

Well today at 10 am i am off with Phil to Brighton for the monthly lunch club. he will be travelling back to Kent afterwards. I shall be staying in the city as i have my gig tonight. Playlist will be posted tomorrow. Meanwhile, a tune that will be on that playlist is this by Jon Lucien, a funky little number called Would You believe In Me. Great vocals!

Enjoy.

So after lunch at Bellota Phil and myself walked up to Chilli Pepper Pete,s shop where he bought a lethal chilli sauce in a coffin shaped package.Looks deadly to me !

I am here at the Evening Star but can only afford one pint of berr till I get the mula for the gig this evening. It is a pint of the classic Dark Star Six Hop Ale (6.5 % ABV). Hence one of those is enough forir me.

The weather started fine but misted over as we approached Brighton but now the mist that kept the city in thrall has burned away and it really quite pleasant sitting outside supping my doleful pint.
