It is sometimes said that poetry is its own music. In the case of jazz poetry perhaps it is more than that but often poetry and music sometimes does not work well together. In my opinion, there are a few which does work, and sublimely well. A case in point is the one that Sir John Betjeman did for the Famous Charisma record label in the seventies, a label that had Lindisfarne and Monty Python, With music by Jim Parker Sir John recorded twelve of his poems on an album called banana Blush. He recorded three more albums with Jim Parker, although IMHO this is the best one.

Here is one of them - Business Girls -

Enjoy. Available on CD as well as LP.

Another poetry and music album that works well is the one that Lawrence Ferlinghetti put out on the Rykodisc label in 1999 , A Coney Island Of The Mind, a treasured CD in my collection, which i have selected  the track #11 aka The World Is A Beautiful Place [From Pictures of the Gone World]

Enjoy.

Took some photos of Florence looking out of the window being nosy. She does out occasionally but i think it is that she loves being nosy.

The Nelsons Blood ale i had Saturday in Faversham. A top notch 6 % ABV beer that was highly quaffable. The other picture is from the last Spoons beer festival. I love taking pictures of hand pumps.
