Since i didn't post a tune for the morning i shall rectify that oversight with two tunes before i retire to bed.
First one is by Bim Sherman from his 1996 album Miracle and a track called Golden Locks.

The whole album is just as mellow and ideal for night time listening. Enjoy.

My favourite soul jazz vocalist has to be Terry Callier, and it was perchance that i actually saw him live back in the nineties at a club in Brighton. Totally mesmerizing. The other day i played a track from his The new Folk Sound of .. LP and tonight from his 1978 album Soul On Ice this gorgeous track African Violet.

FYI the single i am holding in my icon shot is his Love Theme From Spartacus EP. For me the man was a legend. Enjoy. Good night.

The Case of the MP Who Vanished

2Steve Punt turns private investigator and examines the curious case of the socialist MP Victor Grayson who vanished into thin air!

Firebrand politician, champion of the mill workers, scion of the establishment, fancy dresser, hard drinker, man about town. Victor Grayson was many things when he erupted onto the public stage in 1907 as the first and last independent socialist MP, aged 26. However this shooting star disappeared from sight in 1920, under mysterious circumstances, with no confirmed sightings after that.

Punt P.I. sets out on a trail through Yorkshire valleys, dusty archives and seedy Soho to pick up clues to Victor's disappearance".

eat and veg to my inquisitive mind.

Gary Hayden "You Kant Make It Up" (Oneworld Publications)

This is another book vaguely like the books of philosophy  from the graphic styled ones i have read recently with a very similar structure and tone. It's very simple to understand for any reader or those starting out on a philosophy degree.

On the other hand, it's frustratingly simple and repetitive for someone who knows a good bit about philosophy already, however i would still recommend it to beginners. It's well laid out, too; you can skip through it for the stuff you're interested in, letting one idea lead onto another. There's a touch of humour in the whole treatment of it, which might help as well.

Still uncertain what is causing the diarrhea though.

meanwhile here is a pic of the boisterous Churchillian  Bertie (brother's other extant cat) being as proud as the Queen herself.
