William Basinki uses a different hauntological methodology by looping old disintegrating cassette tapes in which the  iron oxide particles on the magnetic tape are slowly turning to dust within the cassette machine. Here is an extract from the Disintegration Loop CD

Pitchfork magazine gave this exhaustive review of it -

Just packaged up a hardback to be posted off from the E Bay auction. Noticed considerable bidding interest on the Barry Lyndon DVD as well.

In other news, the ATM at the Co-op here in the village has been performing well for the last two months or more but now seems to be in a constant situation of "out of order" . Wonder f it will get fixed tomorrow?

Florence has become more adventurous. She is now exploring the garden and unfortunately areas beyond the garden including the garden belonging to Mitzi the dog next door. I smell catastrophe brewing (pun intended).

Off to Sittingbourne today. Nothing exciting. All the exciting things will occur next week. Have some new shops including a J. C. Rooks butchers, a Costa Coffee shop and a Cineworld.  Not all in the same but spread over between  now and the end of the month.

Back to the musty smell of old records being warped and fashioned into new collages, the Ghost Box label is a cornucopia of hauntological delights. Here is The Focus Group sampling old library records, children's activity records, and other child orientated music as used in Playschool etc.

From the album Sketches and Spells a track called Activity And Scales.

Come along now children, let's all enjoy.

Remember those old government safety adverts from the 70's ? Here on the same label, The Advisory Circle have sampled such delights in Mind How You Go.

Enjoy. Remember, be safe.

Apart from a convivial afternoon spent in the Office, not much else happened today.  I walked into Sittingbourne , and after my stint bought some salad stuff and caught a train home, Pretty boring really.
Had a couple cans of beer at home,  fell asleep for awhile and woke up just ten minutes before midnight,
Oh well.

It does seem very quiet on LJ though. I usually get a few comments per post but it has trickled down  to one or two. Oh well.
