So now that i have finished Season Four of BtVS , and previously  alreay gone through Season Five and Six, i went straight into Season 7. I stand at the penulmitate episode and the final battle iwth the First Evil.  I have enjoyed all the seasons and there has been plenty of highlights. Some very funny like Him (S7) and some very sad such as the natural passing away of Joyce. and hence, many times the use of a tissue was required.

This has been the most powerful fantasy drama and after twelve years since it last aired still remains undimmed. It has ben a helter skelter ride of emotional involvement.

Haven't done a music post for awhile, so here is one that wraps up both the Buffy seasons and a song by Lana Del Ray called Dark Paradise.

In this video, Life After Spike's Death, you will see Buffy's struggle with herself after Spike's death. She lingers, trying to cope with the pain and memory of him. But, as time passes, it becomes harder and harder for her to move on.

Possible hankie or tissue warning needed.

Whilst it is dry at the moment the forecast is for rain. So i shall not be popping anywhany ere today and leave visits till tomorrow. I have one in Sittingbourne , plus a quick nip into the Office to print out some work related stuff , and then to Chatham and Rochester.

It is a pity that the Chatham shop could not be done on a Saturday, but as it is coincil office visit near the bus station, they will not be open on that day, otherwise i would leave all the Medway visits to Saturday since have the exit survey in Strood that same day. Oh well!

After watching the final episodes of Season 7 of BtVS it has validated my anaylsis that this series was a game changer in many ways. It redefined the nature of television drama and in partcular , not since Sarah Connors or Ripley (in Alien) that a female can have the power and be strong without the need of being saved by a man. It opened up complex problems from that of a rite of passage to more deeper philosophical and ethical issues of redemption, leadership, friendship, pain, passion , murder and the consequences of one's actions.

It also defined how women can empower themselves, a feminist allegory that both women and men can relate to, and that the bigots, the misanthropic misogynists are not to be tolerated, and that respect is more powerful. It also put the mythology of vampires and other horrors into the light of all the monstrosities that surround us and how we deal with them through the journey of life.

It was a roller coaster of a ride, an emotional trip that contained everything from comedy to horror to pain and loss, and yet, with that slightly wry smile on Buffy's face at the final minutes of the last season there is always hope and that things could improve. No wonder such deeply connected shows as this are worthy of study, and as much as literature as any written book. Thank you for the ride!

Here is a dedication i found on You tube to Season 7 - enjoy!

Oh and did i jump with glee when Caleb , woman hating preacher, finally got his ass kicked. Ewminds me of that shitbag [livejournal.com profile] rubyelf had to put up with, and i hope he gets his ass kicked by a slayer.

Nobody should suffer from hateful horrible internet trolls to the extent that they have to lock up their site and worry, as per the case with [livejournal.com profile] rubyelf. It has knocked out her energy and confidence and i do hope that she can recover from this untoward vitriolic attack. Take away their power and they become an insect you stamp out with your feet.
