My brother made a comment yesterday that when he views my blog it is now in the boring basic blue and white mode, not my fancy quilled writing theme. I just wondered if any of you good folk see it that way as well, and if so, explain to me what i need to do to resolve. It is a paid account that is current , so i am a bit flummoxed.

I will be traveling to Battle today for my second clandestine visit.

Roland Barthes "A Barthes Reader" (Vintage Books)

This is a book that is worth reading for the introduction by Susan Sontag alone, but that would be a disservice to the excellent group of essays by Roland Barthes.

The essays range from Gide, and Tacitus to Racine, to Garbo , which should provide some idea of the breadth of Barthes' interest and intellect. There are also judicious selections from The Pleasure of the Text and A Lover's Discourse that will leave you wanting more. The penultimate selection is Barthes' "Inaugural Lecture" given at the establishment of the chair of Semiology at the College de France. In it Barthes describes his current age as one of "unlearning" and uses these words to describe this experience, which I believe apply to much of this book: "a little knowledge, a little wisdom, and as much flavour as possible."

Another fine collection that i have been dipping into over the last six months.

tv doctor who wtf matt smith confused

I am absolutely furious at the disgusting rudeness of the people I was going to house sit for from tonight through to the following Saturday a week hence. I had my case packed this morning for Barbara G to up pick up this morning on her way to Eastbourne from where they live in Newhaven. They phone to say that they were running very late and could they come later. The problem was that I had some work to do in Battle which I needed to arrive before 5 pm and that I would have to leave Georgina's at one pm at the latest. I heard nothing until I phoned them again before the final hour of me leaving and I heard two voices in the car , one being her friend Lesley , and it was obvious they were arguing. So after GC had her shower, I decided to leave to catch the three buses I needed to get to Battle. On the way, just outside of Eastbourne I get a call from Barbara's boyfriend (Brian) to say that they have changed their mind and will get her father to look after the two dogs and cat for the week. The fact that he has just come out of hospital and to look after three animals, as well as taking the dogs for a walk, beggars disbelief. I am certain he is not up to the job.

What also galls me is that they had the nerve to phone today, the last day before they fly off in the morning to a sunny destination, whilst I am on a bus already leaving Eastbourne, and that Barbara did not have the guts to apologize herself and get the said boyfriend to ring on her behalf. The fact is, I did her murmurs from her in the background, and he told her to shut up. What, GB , no guts to speak to me yourself or even Gerogina.

Also I have lost a lucrative fifty pounds , and had to cancel some work to come down here., I was unable to do a two day bakery security visit in Rainham and a car covert shop in High Brooms (now somebody else has that job for double the fee at £40).

So, I am very angry. GC is perplexed and very angry and has struck BG off her list of friends. I also conveyed this to my brother, and he too is speechless, extremely angry, and said that if he sees her again he would give her a piece of his mind.

So as it is, I will be staying down here till at least Thursday , as I have another evening visit in Uckfield on the Wednesday. I have a visit in Hastings to do on Saturday, and a men's clothes store in Brighton on the Sunday, in which I shall visit my brother.
