I have a bit of a cold. Damn it! So i have taken some Beechams.

I am off to Sittingbourne to do a visit and then a couple on the east coast of Kent or Tunbridge Wells way. Have not decided which direction to go in.

Weather is dry a the moment but looks dull and murky.

I had to wait for a yuletide parcel from my bro [livejournal.com profile] coming42 so i am just doing Sittingbourne today after selling some books in Faversham. Tunbridge Wells can wait till tomorrow along with one at Maidstone.

So apart from the cold remedy, i am in the Summoner pub having a pint of Old Dairy Snow Top (6.4 % ABV) - Described by them as "the perfect ‘winter warmer’ for those long cold nights, Snow Top is brewed with rich dark English Maris Otter, Crystal and Black malts producing a deeply satisfying ale with delicious fruitcake and marmalade flavours, topped off with spicy notes from English Challenger, East Kent Golding and Bramling Cross hops."

Absolutely delicious dark winter ale.

Once i have done the charity shop i have some DVD's to exchange at Cex , and get something else.

So damn cold go away as quickly as you came. Beer helps.

They say that some Irish women are the most beautiful in the world. I dunno about that but if the Irish Liffey river is flowing in them, then Shannen Doherty is one of  those infused with it. Despite all her problems, breast cancer included, she is still a babe. For those who have never seen Charmed ( you philistines) Prue is  the on  the right. (yeah i follow her on Facebook - deal with it!)

She must be using witchcraft to look so young.

I am so blessed with so many good LJ friends and i just want to give a very big "Thank You" to every one. You know whom you are. Added to my grateful thanks is Christina , aka [livejournal.com profile] sugar_sweet.

Love you all. Blessed be.

I was going to Tunbridge Wells but as it was getting late, i did the charity shop in Sittingbourne and had a lovely turkey roast today for a very small £2.49 at the Summoner pub. I could not do that at home for such a cheap price, but obviously they needed to sell it of quickly from last Sunday.

I ended up with three pints of that ale in the end.

I also sold a few books at Past sentence in Faversham for four pounds.

I purchased three books and a couple of DVD's from the charity shop and posted three more items this morning from sales at Discogs.

However, as i have mucked React around too much, i will definitely have to do Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells tomorrow.

So through this fog of hazy cold infused head mulch that i am in, here are a few more gems , the first nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] cmcmck as it is so gorgeous and so Irish.

The Chieftains - The Wexford Carol

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

The Pogues featuring Kirsty McaColl - Fairytale Of New York

This goes out to all the homeless, the destitute and those who need some love.

Finally, i did not know what version to choose so i posted both.

The Dubliners - Whisky In The Jar

Thin Lizzy - Whisky In The Jar

I could do with some whisky now to clear this cold

Enjoy.

The authenticity of Xmas is rather moot. Based as it is on a pagan ritual of celebrating the winter solstice. Ethnically Jesus was a Jew anyway. So Hanukkah should be more appropriate. IMHO , religion as such, is a load of toss. If anything, i waver between atheism and a paganism of older times. So for now i shall call it Yuletide.
