It has been a very muggy hot warm sunny day and i am certain we shall have thunderstorms tonight. However, i did manage to do one covert shop locally, and being a supermarket, i bought some food items and a bottle of strong beer.

So for lunch i had a succulent smoked gammon steak with mashed potatoes and a veg medley. It was delicious. Quality comfort food.

Most of the day i have been grabbing the sunshine to top up the tan.

Anyway, it has cooled off a bit and i am in the lovely quaint town of Faversham yo go to a jazz gig tonight. I am in the local Spoons pun having just met the Indian guy who runs the newsagents in town where i get some of my pipe tobacco. He is cerebrating his birthday today and is already quite inebriated. I wished him a very happy birthday.

I have just accessed some of Alan Barnes music online at You Tube and from what i can gather his music is just too mainstream for me. It is not edgy enough and i will be damned if i am going to pay a twelve quid for such stuff that can be seen free at the Eagle inn at Rochester on a Sunday. In other words too old school to satisty my ears constantly for the new.

So i might just gave a few beers then go home.

Am i being too pedantic not going to a jazz gig that is not at the cutting edge. Perhaps. I do have principles though. The music has to move forward...
