Well folks,i am back in London again. I have another visit to do near Lancaster Gate which is not that far from Notting Hill Gate. Yep,i will be doing some exchanges there and see what music i could pick up cheaply. It looks like it is going to be a nice bright day here in the city, and i intend to make the most of it.I might even visit the Tate Modern , as it is a very very long time since i last went there. It has been years since the last visit to this art gallery on the South Bank so i think i should put in the effort and it is free to get in.

I shall be heading off to Notting Hill , but only after i see a post office, as i have three packets to post off from weekend sales on Ebay and Discogs.

The posting has been sorted but now i need to get some other stuff such as a few Xmas cards.Yeah ,i know ,i'm a bit late with these. However,i intend to go Brighton way on Wednesday.Meanwhile, i have popped into a Pret for their cheap 99p filter coffee. This one is just off the Charing Cross Road, and you know what that means ,i will be passing book shops on the way up the road, including Foyles and Blackwells..just have to blink them out.

Margaret Atwood "Moral Disorder" (Virago)

I enjoyed these interconnected stories very much. In total, they describe the life of Nell, from early childhood to old age. A description like you would get from a series of photographs or random memories -- a description like we tend to get about family members from earlier generations, or the families of friends or co-workers. That could be why, in spite of several gaps in my knowledge of Nell,

The book will be enjoyed by Margaret Atwood fans and I think readers new to her work might enjoy it as a starting point because it's a simple but fascinating read.

Margaret Atwood is a fine writer and this is a wonderful, thought-provoking and compelling book.

Short enough to read in one sitting or spread out longer depending on how much you like to take in or deliberate as you're reading. Having finished this I could easily go straight on to another book by her which is testament to how different each of her books are; usually I'd have to have a break in between authors.

Well,it turned out to br a good day and the weather stayed lovely for my trip to London.I recieved nine pounds for my exchanges over at MVE in Notting Hill,

There i found the following -

Toru Takemitsu - Riverrun
Nurse With Wound -Living Fear of James Last
Goldie - Timeless

Then i took the bus towards the Connaught Village ,north of the Bayswater Road and Hyde Park for my covert lunch visit. I had a vegan curry washed down with a glass of mulled wine.

I then took the bus to the Soho area to see if other shops i use to visit are still extant.Sister Ray is still there in Berwick Street where I found the following for around £3 each -

The Matthew Herbert Big Band - There's Me And There’s You
Fela Kuti and Egypt 80 - Underground System

I also noticed that Reckless Records was still thriving and in Broadwick Street Sounds Of The Inverse were still busy. They have all the Soul Jazz record releases in stock and some tasty jazz albums.

I then walked down Charing| Cross Road and poope into Foyle's bookshop to the second floor where Ray’s jazz Shop is to be found. I found this album going cheap -

Don Byron - The Tuskegee Experiment.

They are all great finds -and i shall be listening to these over the next few days.
