In Sheerness

Just the one visit today - which i have completed and wrote the report a few minutes ago whilst drinking beer at the Belle and lion pub in Sheerness. Weather is dull and overcast with intermittent precipitation.

Phil was catering last night in Faversham and we met up at the Leading Light pub for drinks after he finished. He drove me home in his van and gave me a full plate of dinner , a mousse as well as cheese and biscuits form the function he catered. Somebody did not turn up and he had these leftovers. I am looking forward to tucking in to the dinner tonight.

Tones Drones and Arpeggios

Tonight i watched on BBC 4 the second part of Tones Drones and Arpeggios ,a documentary about minimalism in art music and specifically Terry Riley,LaMonte Young,Steve Reich and Philip Glass. I watched the first half on catch up via the iPlayer.

This was a fascinating look at the pioneers of the new wave of classicism. I hope that they would consider Michael Nyman into the mix but they did interview Nico Muhly and one of the members of Bang On A Can.
