A mild and dry day so far, and if the forecast is to be believed quite warm, up to 24 C on Wednesday, before it all turns to shit again from Friday.

I have moved some jobs for the Wednesday and Thursday as the former is payday.

Popping into town later today as I have four items to post from weekend sales.

Watched a few episodes of Big Bang Theory season 7 last night after Doctor Who.

Restudied some more on the period that is known as the Enlightenment and its subsequent dialectic Romanticism.

Reading Christopher Hibbert's book "French Revolution", a mere 350 pages long.

Derek Jarman "At Your Own Risk" (Vintage)

One of the striking themes of this book, which is in the form of diary entries, is Derek Jarman's anger not only at the homophobia of the society in which he grew up, but also with the implicit collusion which comes from social liberals who fail to take prejudice seriously: a refrain here is that 'you failed to notice the violence which was taking place around you as you hid behind the pages of your copy of The Guardian'. Looking back on the whole of his life, with touching regret at how long it took him to take himself seriously, and under the shadow of HIV/AIDS in the final decades, this is also an emotionally intelligent and humane book, full of wit and delight - more assertive than some people will find comfortable, and yet is a subversive delight.

What's your ultimate cake topping?

Do you lick the yogurt lid?

Do you lick the spoon clean after making something sweet

Another piece of furniture was going to be thrown out by the builders who have been upgrading the building here in Waterstone Place. I was informed by other residents in the common room today that the piece of furniture would have been thrown out tomorrow and knowing I was the techy guy thought of me. It was a perfect piece of quality furniture for my room and hence one of the ladies helped me to move it.

So, now I have all the computer stuff together which has freed up the white coffee table for other things since the printer commandeered it.

I will be watching University Challenge in am hours time.
