Listening Day
Mar. 20th, 2019 10:13 pmA quiet day of relaxing, reading and listening to music.
I am beginning to warm to the sound of the CD system having it play disparate strands of music from hip hop to jazz, post-punk to grime, improv to industrial and noise, avant-garde classical to experimental, trip hop to drum n' bass, avant pop to indie skronk, and reggae to dub.
It is now nine fifty at night and I am listening to Betty Carter's great album "Droppin' Things". Jazz scat and vocals recorded live with a great jazz group behind her.
Earlier I listened to -
Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti "Before Today"
Low "Things We Lost In The Fire"
Can "Soundtracks"
Soft Machine "Spaced"
Michael Nyman "The Piano" Soundtrack
I also listened to some of Radio 3 - the classical station - and was chuffed to know that their composer of the week is bandoneon player and composer - Astor Piazzolla.
