Well, it is now midday here in sunless Ospringe. The surprise package from my brother is coming today and not tomorrow now. So I am here waiting for arrival from Amazon. I had plans to pop out into town but that is now on hold. I have three items to post but they can be done tomorrow. Meanwhile, I have been reading and watching a fascinating interview with Joni Mitchell at seventy. The discussion was posted in three parts on YouTube.

It has arrived and it sounds good.

Listening to the Dino Saluzzi Cd on ECM Records.

Just one minor niggle. The system when playing music that flows from one track to the next - such as Virgins by Tin Hecker - leaves a short second gap between each track. the Compaq laptop with the Asus CD ROM attached to it lets it flow without the gap. I checked tracks 8 and 9 on the Denon in the common room and it is a smooth flow from one track to the next without that one second or so gap - which is noticeable - but a minor quibble.

Showing both together. The laptop will stay as a dedicated DVD player and hard drive for other music as well as ripping CDs to the hard drive.

I  have put the new CD system through its paces. Plays even a CDr I burned and a 3" CD well. The CDr is from the Kein EP "Tommy" that was only downloadable or on 12" vinyl via Bandcamp, which is the best site for underground music at the moment.

Looking through the current issue of Wire, they have reviewed quite a lot of stuff that is DL only via Bandcamp. The last downloads I did was the Kemper Norton recording and one by Mhysa "Fantasii".

I have also tried the USB socket at the top of the machine and listened to a mix I made some time ago on the Compaq laptop. There is also a socket for SD card.

Do you prefer your clothes tight or loose?

Do you prefer your shoes stylish or comfortable?

Do you like to mix your clothing styles rather than off the peg?
