It was quite sunny this morning and remained that way for most of the day. Now it is overcast but still dry. Started reading a book then realized I had a call back from one of mystery covert calls for ten this morning. That took twenty minutes of my time and then I spent another half hour doing the report for it.

The new Bob Dylan CD arrived in the post, so once I finished the report I listened to that album twice.

I might pop out shortly to get some bits and pieces from Morrisons supermarket and if I leave it till five they usually have bargains at the end of the day.

Ha, as I am writing the sun is about to come out from the clouds. This is a sign.

Well, it has been quite a Bob Dylan day having listened to both his latest album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, and his previous collection of the American songbook, Triplicate. It proves that even a septuagenarian as Bob can still bring out such wonderful records. Then there is the octogenarian, Shirley Collins, with her latest collection of songs on Heart's Ease. I really love these albums.

Talking of matureness, I have reconnected with two old friends from Rugby via email and by phone - Gareth, and Steve, as I have not seen either for ages and I wondered how they were doing. We were all at the same school back in the day. Of course, I pointed them towards my LJ site. It the best way they can keep informed of my activities.

Talking of music, the next post will be a music post.

I just listened to this BBC Radio 4 broadcast which was an eye-opener and quite frightening concerning how partisan broadcasting can divide civilization leading to civil war.

A Media Divided

Michael Goldfarb looks at how eliminating a simple broadcast regulation in the United States, The Fairness Doctrine, led to the birth of right-wing talk radio, Fox News, political polarisation, and the rise of Donald Trump.

He explores whether the First Amendment, with its guarantees of free speech and a free press, can survive the polarisation fed and watered by unrestrained partisan "fake news".

Thankfully, our BBC is still impartial and unbiased in news reporting, analysis, and commentary.

Time for some music methinks -

Bob Dylan - Murder Most Foul

Yet another masterpiece has been painted. His timing is impeccable. Something for Americans to think about as they go into another 'election.'.

Democracy died when he died except for a brief period of Obamaism.
“In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” G. Orwell

Shirley Collins - The Merry Golden Tree

Nina Simone - Isn't it a Pity

Enjoy.

Jim Carrey and Alec Baldwin portray Donald Trump and Joe Biden during the first debate with a special appearance from
Maya Rudolph as Kamala Harris. Welcome to the Holy F*ck of American Politics!

WARNING: This is very painful to watch, it will make you sick to your gut.

Weekend Update: Trump Tests Positive for Covid - SNL

Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackle the week's biggest news, like a poll showing overwhelming
support for Joe Biden from the LGBTQ community.

This is what the world has to put up with, a gong and pony show.
